Tagged - All Things Five

Another tag, another reason to blog. This time I was tagged by Nightwing of Carpe Diem.

Here is the tag :- Ten Questions. These are the rules :-

Five answers to each question and then tag five others.

Instructions :- Remove the first Blog and add your own blog last.

Well, let's get right to it now ....

Q1. What were you doing 10 Years ago?

1. Being single.

2. Working in Kuala Lumpur in an I.T. recruitment company.

3. Contemplating if I should purchase a cell phone. (it was huge and heavy compared to my current phone).

4. Became an aunt for the first time.

5. Attending way too many weddings of relatives and friends. I got a little tired of "Aunty Kaypoh" asking me when was my turn.

Q2. What were you doing 1 Year ago?

1. Married and living overseas (Aunty Kaypoh finally shut up - maybe due to distance and my lack of attendance at family gatherings).

2. Holidaying in Malaysia and eating lots of satay and other local delicacies.

3. Getting too many headaches with excessive cross stitching. Contemplated taking a break.

4. Contemplated starting a blog. Procrastinated.

5. Resumed cross stitching! :)

Q3. What are 5 snacks you enjoy?

1. Dark chocolate

2. Fruits

3. Potato Chips

4. Cookies

5. Dried cuttlefish (with sugar)

Q4. What are 5 songs you know the lyrics to?

1. I'll Never Love This Way Again - Dionne Warwick

2. Paper Roses - Marie Osmond

3. Stand By Your Man - Tammy Wynette

4. Sometimes When We Touch - Dan Hill

5. Twilight Time - The Platters

Q5. 5 things you would do if you are a Millionaire?

1. Buy a house by a beach, near a big city (I need both attractions)

2. Sponsor my niece's and nephew's education

3. Travel the world

4. Donate to charities

5. Open centres for troubled teenagers and abused women

Q6. 5 Bad habits?

1. Too hasty, at times (don't like some issues hanging over me for too long)

2. Restless (get bored when there is nothing interesting going on)

3. Being a fashion police (but will not say anything because not everyone wants to hear unsolicited advice). So, I just share it with whoever I am with about the person who is in fashion violation. :)

4. Forgetting to eat when something takes up my time (suffer with gastric and headache after that)

5. Procrastinate, at times (especially housework)

Q7. 5 things you like to do?

1. Reading

2. Travelling

3. Playing musical keyboard

4. Learning new languages

5. Sewing/Cross Stitching

Q8. 5 Favourite Toys?

1. Laptop

2. Musical keyboard

3. Big screen TV

4. Wireless Skype phone

5. Camera

Q9. 5 things you would never wear?

1. Thongs (underwear and footwear) - cannot stand the "in between" feeling

2. Bikini - never have, never will

3. Heavy makeup - unless I want to look like a drag queen.

4. Very high heels that hurt my back and feet - vanity has its limits.

5. Very short skirts or very low-cut tops - "excuse me, my eyes are up here."

Q10. 5 things you hate to do? (but sometimes it just can't be helped)

1. Pick up dog-poo!

2. Ironing clothes (the thought of it is daunting but once I start, it is not too bad)

3. Housework (I'll dust only if I must)

4. Living far away from big cities - hate the long drives just for running errands. (holiday drive is different)

5. Living in a place where there is no public transport

I now tag:

I am supposed to tag five people and I have them in mind but I am not sure if they will be willing to do it. So, I will leave it open.

If you like to do this, let me know and I will update this part to include your name. :)

Update - I now tag:

1. Angel Eyes

2. Ruby Ahmad

3. Rashikaps

Hahaha...I laughed out loud when I read the 5 things you never wear. I think my list would exactly be the same as yours. And yes, I would never be caught dead in a bikini!!

Angel Eyes said...

I like this tag, very interesting.. hmm.... should i do it?

J.T. said...

Hi Trueblue

Ah! We have those things in common. I still don't understand how my friend says she is most comfortable in her thongs. To me, anything that flosses butt must feel terrible. hahaha

J.T. said...

Hi Angel Eyes

It is an interesting tag. You should try it.

OK, I am going to officially tag you. Looking forward to seeing your responses in your blog. :)

Hi JT,

This such an interesting tag by Carpe Diem. Thank you for suggesting it to me and yes please tag me too, I am game..ha ha. But just give me a little bit of time ok dear.

I can identify with many of your thoughts here. You are a kind person. I would want to do no 2 in Q5 to sponsor education for both relatives and friends. Education is key to a good society. Thanks again for inviting me to join this tag.

Btw pick up a dog poo? Ha ha. I love cats and at times I have to clean up their poo poo. Since I love them I just wear the gloves and imagine my katest fav new perfume Addict 2 by Christian Dior.

Nightwing said...

Hehe..hi JT, thanks for playing. Nice answers...like the part where aunty 'kaypoh' keep mouth shut.

Wow..the songs u know the lyrics too..not easy to sing. Like the song 'sometimes when we touch'.

Ever sang the song 'stand by your man' to your hubby?..:)

Take care now...cheers.

J.T. said...

Hi Ruby

Thank you for being such a good sport. I am going to add you to my list. Looking forward to learning more about you. :) (oh yeah.. you can take your time on it).

Thanks for your kind words. I agree with you about the education part being the key to a good society. Education is important. Some people do not have that opportunity because of finances, family and government situations.

As for picking up dog poo ... luckily my Peanut (that is his name) does it on the paper. So I just fold it up and take it away. But sometimes, he misses the spot. I guess that is the time I have to imagine my favourite perfume - Beautiful. :D

Hello Nightwing

Thanks for tagging me. It was a good game to play.

'Sometimes When We Touch' used to be one of the songs I could strum on the guitar and sing ... to myself. ;)
As for 'Stand By Your Man' ... no, never did sing that to my hubby. Never tried that on the guitar either. That one, I just sing along when it is being played on the radio or by a live band at a country & western pub.

Cheers!

Hi JT, I did not pop in here thinking you still settling down in Blue Bayou country till saw you popping in mine. Thanks.
Ha ha, love what you mentioned here.
Can't help smiling at your love of dried cuttlefish? I remember dating a SYT who had that earlier, it sure put me off from kissing her, ha ha.
I guess durians, garlic and cuttle fish might be a good deterrent if not wanting any amourous advances.
So? I will not be seeing you in Waikiki sunbathing on the golden sands in your itsy bitsy, yellow polka dot bikini? Arhaaa ha ha.
Ahhh, the songs you love I love too.
My favourites are C&W. You have a good day, JT, Lee.

I just did a triple tag on my blog. You know me lah... not a fan of tags so I just combine whatever I can in a single posting...

Ahh, you remember the lyrics to Paper Roses, eh? Reminds me of my school days when the Osmonds were the craze... even during our form 3 concert (after SRP) we did our own version of Donny & Marie Show... haha!

J.T. said...

Hi Lee

I've been caught up with some errands but have managed to do a little blogging here and there. Glad that I found time to drop by and read your very interesting post. ;)

Anyway, I say dried cuttlefish is another form of birth control. hahaha ...
Love it and always eat them when I am back home in Malaysia. But I am careful not to eat it just before going out for a social function. That applies to durians and petai as well. My perfume won't be able to mask those smells. :D

Love the colour yellow but no.. you will not see me basking under the Waikiki sun in an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow polka dot bikini. ;D I always imagine a wardrobe malfunction happening once I hit the water. I don't wish to join the other topless women there and neither do I want my bikini bottom to become a thong. hahaha

Keep well, Lee. See you around. :)

J.T. said...

Hi Pi

I thought you were not taggable. :) You're being a good sport doing all three.. even though it is a three-in-one deal. I will be right over at your blog after this.

The Osmonds were so popular then, huh? Remember Donny and Marie's famous song?

I'm a little bit country,
I'm a little bit rock n' rock.
I'm a little bit mix of Nashville
With a little bit of Motown in my soul,
Don't know if it's good or bad
But I know I love it so
I'm a little bit country,
I'm a little rock n' roll.

Ah! memories. Loved Donny Osmond for the longest time. Then other dudes came along. haha

I was in Bordeaux and we saw a dog pooing and the owner didn't pick it up. An old man passed by and told him that he should clean up after his dog, but he responded by threating to fight with the old man instead. People are just so shameless.

If I have money, I will buy my mother a house. :-)

Hi JT, saw on TV news Louisana got hit by a hurricane. Where you are any problems? Hope you guys are alright.
You sure made me smile re your reply to my comment, ha ha, 'wardrobe malfunction', ha ha. I've seen that happened few times too, but sometimes I think done on purpose. Talking about young orang putehs.
See you around, Lee.

J.T. said...

Hi Winnie

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. Luckily, after a couple of years, they stopped asking me. They knew I was a lost cause. They moved on to newer 'victims'. :D

You have a great weekend too, Winnie.

Hello Princess Farina

I like to walk around the malls and shops mostly for window shopping. It is my way of zoning out and relaxing my mind. Sometimes I like to stop at bookshops with a cafe (like Books-A-Million) to have a cup of coffee and read something. A big city also offers more opportunities for jobs, school, etc.

I know someday I will get back to that convenience again - live near a big city. I had that when I lived in Texas back in 1999 - 2001. Everything was within a 30-minute drive.

J.T. said...

Hi Pearly

Yeah, Donny Osmond was a heart throb when he was young. He still looks good till today. If I were in the UK with you, I would have accompanied you to Donny's concert. That would have been fun. :)

J.T. said...

Hi Bee Ean

So nice to see you here again. I'm glad everything went well on your side. Relatives have come and gone. Wedding took place without a hitch. Hope your hubby is ok now - after that accident at his bachelor party?

As for dog poo, it is a good thing I have a huge lawn and when I take my dog out for a walk, I bring him to the far end. The only time I have to pick up after him is when he does it on the paper at night on our porch.

I noticed in most parts of Europe (maybe some parts of the States too especially in the cities), people have to pick up after their dogs to keep the environment clean. It is the law. That is good.. if not we will be stepping in poo all the time. :)

Hi Lee

The hurricane did not come up to our place. It did hit south of Louisiana with heavy rains, though. I believe it was a category 1 hurricane. Winds were not as violent as the last disastrous one in 2005 - Hurricane Katrina (category 5, I think). We got some rain and the weather has cooled down a little. Thanks for enquiring about us. Appreciate your concern. :)

Anyway, when I was in Phuket a few years back, I noticed wardrobe malfunctions were done on purpose! :D The 'orang putihs' have no qualms about showing it all, regardless or shape, size or what the force of gravity has done to their 'assets'! haha

Lee said...

Hi JT, thanks for your comment. Will reply you tomorrow.
Come over my place again, have something for you. Goodnight. Lee.

Hi Jacqui!

Sorry it takes me so long to visit every time...

How alike we sometimes are...

5. Very short skirts or very low-cut tops - "excuse me, my eyes are up here."

Yeah...I know what you mean...Sometimes, it is a little difficult for men in my case...You see, I am not gifted at all vertically speaking...

If they want to look at my eyes, they kinda have a bird's eye view of the decolletage, or lack thereof...The only other option is if they sit down (Nah! Then they will be looking directly at the chest!) or if I stand on a stool...

Sheesh...

As for very high heels, well, either the heels break or I fall...Hehe...

By the way, I actually could mentally sing out all 5 songs you mentioned! At least, the chorus...Haha...We like the same songs by the looks of it...

*Hugs*

Hi JT,

Gosh! Today is a day of doing nothing for me and it feels absolutely refreshing. So now I wanna kaypoh here a bit..ha ha. JT I love sotong bakar to bits. The best I know is freshly grilled ones from Gurney Drive, Penang. A birth control thingy..no way, cik abang will just sweetly say, Sayang..pi berus gigi...HA HA..big laughter.

JT life is so funny. Look dear I married 20 going 21 and you know what? They say, why marry so early? Do we ever win? So [erhaps best not to take any notice of what people say. What do they know what we go through eh?

Ok enuf can't let out too much. Once back from break I have to think about doing this tag innit? You take care. Cheers.

Kak Teh said...

jt, how rajin of you to do the tag. I cant even think of anything to blog abt. actually, lots of things but too lazy/tired. This is just me saying, I am back.

J.T. said...

Hi Lee

That was a good post you did. Enjoyed the comparison between the golden classic days and our modern times. Both eras have its attractions. :)

You keep well, Lee. Have a good weekend.

Rashikaps said...

Hey JT:

Liked going through this one. I would like to be tagged too. Will be able to do it in a few days though.

I love 'Sometimes when we touch' too.. although I hear the one sung by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton more. :) And, I used to play the guitar too. I still sing though. You and I have too many things in common. :)

J.T. said...

Hi Daphne

Don't worry about not being able to drop by too often. I can imagine how your current schedule at school keeps you occupied more than ever.

Re short skirts, I think the shortest I ever wore was during my time in the school band. Our teachers made sure we wore bike shorts underneath. My skirt was about 5 inches above the knee.

Daphne, I think regardless of our heights, a man will look where he wants to look, when he wants to look. (we just wish some would do it discreetly). ;)
If he is built like Colin Farrell, he's not going to know how I am checking him out! hahaha

J.T. said...

Hi Ruby,

Nice to see you here on your "do nothing" day.

You know, I have only been to Penang three times in my life and never really tried the food at Gurney Drive. I believe it is time to go back there again - mainly to check out the food.

Cik abang asking for a mouth clean up will definitely bring laughter. He must be comfortable with you to ask for that favour.

As for those auntie 'kaypohs', I agree. We can never win with them. They will always find something to say. Maybe it is a bad habit of butting into other people's life. Maybe they are just frustrated about something in life that they project their dissatisfaction on others. Whatever it is, every generation is never short of their 'favourite' auntie kaypoh. :)

Take your time on the tag. You have forever to do it (or as long as blogspot exists). Cheers!

Hello Kak Teh

Back from Oslo? Nice to see you here again. Thanks for dropping by even though you may be tired from all that jet-setting around.

I don't mind tags because usually they do not require much thinking. Mostly because it is an idea or guideline, which I need for writing.

Would you like to be tagged for this? You can take your time doing it. No pressure. Get your rest, feel refreshed, blog about other things you have on your mind first.

Looking forward to reading your posts. Miss them!

J.T. said...

Hi Rashikaps

Thanks for being a good sport. I have tagged you officially. Take your time on it. :)

You know, I have not heard Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton's version of 'Sometimes when we touch'. (where have I been, right? hahaha)

I miss my guitar. I left it back in Malaysia. It is a classical one though (uses nylon strings). I have to consider getting the acoustic/steel string one for strumming and singing.

Looks like we do have many things in common. Could it be an Aquarian trait? ;)
By the way, other fellow Aquarians here are Daphne Ling (and if I am not mistaken, U.Lee. Am I correct, Lee?) If I am missed out anyone else, please let me know. :)

i'd rather wear a thong than be caught dead wearing a grandma underwear...no way jose!

the last time i feel like a granny was when i was 7 months & up pregnant..

but to wear a thong elegantly, one must do a brazilian wax otherwise its a big NO NO..hahahaha!

Anonymous said...

Hehehe - that was hilarious! esp. about the thongs! I wear both!
And I love the dried cuttlefish with sugar as well - though I haven't had it for ages! I remember that I used to buy this at the school canteen during recess!

J.T. said...

Hi KC

Now that you have given me a choice between grandma undies and thongs, I will take the grandma style. hahaha (I am all for comfort).
But really, if I had a choice, neither one would be in my collection. Since this is an open channel, I will not reveal what I really like. :D

Brazilian wax: I heard that is a big time OUCH!
It is true, though, if one wants to use a pair of thongs with elegance, that wax method is the way to go. I could say more but this comment may become PG-18. haha

J.T. said...

ColourMeCrazy,

So nice to see you here.

oh! you wear both kinds of thongs. Interesting. :D

That's right... our school used to sell that dried cuttlefish at the canteen. The money that was supposed to go on lunch, went on junk food. haha

Anonymous said...

J.T.

I like the cuttlefish with sugar too. My sister sent me a bag of them and I'm treasuring them. I can't them in the Asian stores.

And I like your Q6 #4 - I wish I can forget to eat when I'm too occupied. Food is always on my mind no matter how busy I am. That is why I find it hard to drop a pound!

J.T. said...

Hi Dawn

That is what I noticed too.. we cannot get that cuttlefish with sugar at the Asian stores here. Well, at least, at the ones I went to.

By the way, forgetting to eat is terrible because after that the headache or gastric goes away, I overeat. I have to remind myself to eat small portions the whole day (as the doctor advised). Despite the forgetfulness, my pounds have not dropped. :(
I just say it comes with age. haha
