A Music Shuffle
I am tied up with some things currently and will not be able to update my blog regularly. Since I just cannot think of anything to blog about today, I will resort to fulfilling another tag (which I should have done about two weeks ago). I was tagged by Rad - to do "A Music Shuffle MeMe".
Since she was unsure of the origin and details of this tag, she modified it a little - to her taste.
I was curious about its origin and I 'googled' this game (two weeks ago) and found many forms of "Shuffle Your Music".
I am going with this version:
Rules: To play this, you need an Ipod or Mp3 player with a "shuffle" feature that allows random shuffling among all the music stored on it. You can even do this on your computer music library, like iTunes, if it’ll let you shuffle.
Answer each question by shuffling to the next song to see what song comes up...and there’s the answer to your question!
1. How does the world see me? She - Elvis Costello (from Nottinghill Soundtrack)
She may be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
Maybe my treasure or the price I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
May be the chill that autumn brings
May be a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day
She may be the beauty or the beast
May be the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell....
2. Will I have a happy life? As Time Goes By - Frank Sinatra
3. What do my friends really think of me? Piano Man - Billy Joel
Sing us a song, youre the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well, were all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feelin' alright
4. Do people secretly lust after me? For The Longest Time - Billy Joel
HAHAHAHA ....*pause* ... HAHAHAHAHA
How funny was that - to land on that song?
5. How can I make myself happy? Beyond The Sea - Bobby Darin
Another land, perhaps.
6. What should I do with my life? Volare - Dean Martin
I will fly! (that's what 'Volare' means in Spanish). Fly as far and as wide as I can.
7. What is my day going to be like? My Way - Frank Sinatra
8. What is some good advice for me? My Humps - Black Eyed Peas
What you goin' do with all that junk? All that junk , inside your trunk?
9. How will I be remembered? When You're Good To Mama - Queen Latifah (from Chicago soundtrack)
When you're good to this mama, she'll be good to you. HAHAHA
11. What song will play at my funeral? Almost Paradise - Anne Wilson & Mike Reno (from Footloose soundtrack)
12. What type of men do I like? When You Say Nothing At All - Ronan Keating
I am trying not to impose this on anyone, although I have some people in mind. If you want to blog about something fun and light, please feel free to pick this up.
If your kids are bored and do not know what to do with themselves (and probably brooding around the house), have a family game session and get them to share their music with you (that way you will know what they are listening to). Be creative. Make up new questions - make fun of your relatives, if you have to. :D Have fun!
“Fun is good.” - Dr. Seuss
"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing."
~ Dale Carnegie
Update: Following some comments, I think I am able to figure out who would like to try this. I hereby tag:
Rashikaps
Winnie the Pooh
Pearly
Kak Teh
Take your time. It is no fun if you pressure yourself. This tag is valid until ... the twelfth of never. :)

Hi JT, first time I hear about this song tag.
I love most of the songs here, 'My way, She, Beyond the sea' especially.
I have seen 'Nottinghill' not less than 5 times too.
I like that fellow Hugh Grant, typical British, and his accent too.
You keep well JT, Lee.
Hi Lee
Lovely songs, aren't they?
Looks like we enjoy the same kind of music.
Nottinghill - me too. I've seen it more than 5 times. Never get tired of it. Hugh Grant's a charming fellow. :)
Oh *Giggles* JT,
That was funny...Hehehehehe...The things that people come up with...
They're gonna play 'Almost Paradise' when you die (like 60 years from now, fingers-cross)?
That can go both ways, wei...
Either, you're going to Almost Paradise, or it's like Almost Paradise for the people on earth now that you're...You get it right?!?
For me, definitely NOT the latter...
Cos I'll miss you lots *Hugs*
Sister Jac dear,
Ohhhhh! I love no.2! Frankly, I love anything Sinantra's.
Of course Keating's When You Say Nothing At All is my rainy day fave!
Eh, how are you lah?
Hi Daphne
Exactly... the things people come up with but I am not complaining. At least it gives me something fun and mindless to do when I am not able to think.
I don't doubt that it will be Almost Paradise for some individuals when I kaput. After all, I could be a beast; the famine and turn-each-day-into-a-Hell kind of person to them. ;)
awww... so nice to hear that you will miss me when I am gone. At least, I have one person less to haunt. haha
Hello dear, dear Elviza,
Cool ... we both love Sinatra. :)
The country version of "When You Say Nothing At All" was played for my first dance (with hubby) at our wedding reception.
I am doing ok. Just a little tied up with stuff these days. I do not blog or blog hop as much. Hoping to get back to my previous blogging routine after summer. :)
I love that song "she" :) Are all the songs in your ipod in English? All the ones in mine are chinese! :P
Hi Winnie
I do not own an iPod... yet. I still have my old faithful MP3 player.
My songs are mixed. Apart from English, I have a few Spanish songs too (although I can only understand a little now).
Hi Sharm,
Thank you for considering the blog of my choice to win the WUBA Award. She certainly deserves it. :)
I'm intrigued by number 12- what type of men do u like? one who says nothing at all....
hahaha
hi JT :
I never know that a song can be make as a TAG weldone you make it so easy la , alamah if you want me to do song tag I will mati la kekeekk
you keep busy wat you need to do we will always here to wait until you free xxxxxx
Hi Sue,
haha... funny isn't it? It is true to some extent.
I've come across some who say a lot but do not live up to their words. If that is going to be the case, then I rather they "say nothing at all". :)
Hi Pearly,
This tag game was out there in cyberspace created by someone. I just took those questions and answered them with song titles from my player. :)
Winnie says she has Chinese songs in her iPod. This game can still be played, just translate the song titles to English. (Hint to Winnie: want to try it?) ;)
It is easy. Pearly. You can do it too - just use your collection of old songs. Copy the questions here and answer them with the song titles you pick at random.
jt truly admire you doing this. I can hardly lift up my head. Am so tempted when it comes to songs - but no i must not give in. have fun!
Hi Kak Teh
I love music and just could not let this one go.. though it took me a while. :)
I have been tied up with stuff and cannot blog as regularly as before.
Are you still suffering from hayfever or just buried in work?
Take care, Kak Teh. :)
4. Do people secretly lust after me? For The Longest Time - Billy Joel
whatelse can i say but peeeweet! ;)
Hi Princess Farina
I thought it was so funny to land on that title for my answer.
Anyway, thanks for the flattering whistle. ;)
Hi J.T,
Thanks for viviting my site. Its not really much of a site since I have only 3 postings and the last one was sometime ago. In fact HJ Angus and Rocky egged me to post new ones that has led me to go beyond the first one. Elviza's visit was another shot in the arm to make me go on with blogging.
Actually I have another two in drafts but lately I was so preoccupied with reading and commenting in Malaysia Today that I neglected my own site and thus delaying my new posts. Your visit and comment will definitely give me the push to complete my draft and present something new for repeat visitors.
Have a good day
Hi Zawi,
Malaysia Today has definitely kept me occupied too, besides other things.
Happy to know that you will be posting soon. I will return to your blog. :)
Have a good weekend, Zawi.
j.t.
Do not get confused on me yet - my earlier long-comment on your previous entry gone *blink* just like that into space! Since yours is moderation-enabled - I dont wanna to repeat it -that's all. Aiya, whatever am I saying..make sense?
And big thank you for being a good sport - not all bloggers like this meme/tagging business. But it has it's uses kan?
Like Sue - men you like - say nothing at all? Hm, doesn't that annoy you after all the time you spend talking & the guy goes, "Huh?" or "Uh-uh.."
And I see a mixed of golden oldies & current Top40 from Sinatra's to Black Eyed Peas in your music selection.
BTW, I also love Nottinghill's H.Grant (for his accent - right UL?) & Ronan's effortless singing even from his boy-band days.
Hi Rad
Oh ..Ok I get you - about that message thingy in my last post.
Tags/MeMes have its uses. I use it for relaxation. When I have no time to write about stuff or just don't know what to blog about, I turn to tags.
Oh! about men who say nothing at all... yes, it can be annoying especially when I'm talking about something important. They think it is just another 'blah, blah' session. I have to pre-warn them to get their attention. hahaha
You know..I love all the same songs which makes it a little freaky!!
But you know I love the movie 'Beyond the Sea' starring Kevin Spacey reiterating the life of Bobby Darin..a must watch!
Also another charming singer that you may have enjoyed listening too; Perry Como =)
thanks j.t. I might try it :) sometimes too lazy to do translation hehehe..might be try using hubby's ipod? ;P
Hi Cuz Melissa,
That movie 'Beyond the Sea' was excellent. Loved the songs. Loved the story line too. I usually watch anything musical more than twice. The others include 'Amadeus' - life story of Mozart, about 5 times and 'Sound of Music' - about 16 times. :)
Perry Como. You know his songs too? oh my ... :)
Love that song "Papa Love Mambo", "And I love you so" (played it on the piano too). His Christmas song collection is nice.
Freaky that we like the same songs even though our age gap is wide.
Then again, if you were exposed to the oldies growing up with your grandparents, I am not surprised. :)
Hey Winnie
Hope you do... it will be fun. Something to blog about. :)
Hello Jacqui:)
Nice to found your space too...thank you becasue your warm words...
By the way, your blog very interesting, I'll visite you usually...
So you live in Germany? What about your roots? Tell me more, so interesting too...
A sincere hug from Chile!
Hola Eduardo
Welcome to my blog. Happy to see you here.
Regarding my roots, prefiero escribir a usted explicar. A little too lengthy to explain here.
See you around and thanks for dropping by. :)
Hey JT,
I'm so late .. blogspot blocked in office .. sorry :( I loved all the songs .. fun thing to do. Someone please tag me..:)
Hmmm.. I love Hugh Grant.. His comic timing is amazing.. charming fellow. :)
Hey Rashikaps
That's a bummer that the office has blocked blogspot but I can understand why they do it ;)
Anyway, since you're game for this, I am officially tagging you. :)
You are such a sport. It is fun. You will enjoy it.
Yup... Hugh Grant's a charming guy. :)
Hehe - that was quite a fun meme! And I remember Bobby Darin - didn't he sing "Don't worry be happy"?
ColourMeCrazy,
It was fun. Would you like to pick up on this tag? If you do, I will just add your name to the list. :)
Bobby McFerrin sang "Don't Worry Be Happy". :)
Bobby Darin was more into Big Band music, among others.
hahaha j.t. I'll try with my ipod first..if its too difficult..i'll turn to hubby's ipod for help! ;p
cheers!
Oh you're right! It was Bobby McFerrin not Bobby Darin! My memory is failing ;-)
No offense but I think I'll pass on the tag! I'm sooo behind in my Deutsch homework at the moment...and I'm procrastinating! Reading blogs is so much more fun than Deutsch!
Hi Winnie
That's a sport. Looking forward to your sharing. :)
ColourMeCrazy,
Deutsch homework is not much fun. I agree. I think those Friday night drinking session with your classmates are better. Drinking and learning Deutsch - that's the way to do it. haha
Don't worry about the tag. No offence taken. :)
Hello J.T.
Just to see how are you going and left a hug.
FUNN is good
u sure are a funn girl
i have book marked your page
expect another regular visitor henceforth
Hey, Hey..Cool tag!
Hi Odele
I'm doing fine. Thank you for visiting. A hug to you too. :)
Hi Jim
Thanks! Appreciate your comments. :)
I will be looking forward to your return here.
Hi Trueblue
Cool tag for someone who just don't know what to blog about anymore. :D
Sound of Music ..don't start. I lost count how many umpteenth times I've watched it. I still can sing along like a frog when the sounds come on.
Well this may surprise you but I got exposed to the oldies thru mutual friends and my dad. And plus Kelvin (my bf) has been rubbing all the oldies influence on me..I must admit its really relaxing than head banging & scream-y songs.
I've got a collection of them in CD and on my laptop. Let me know if you're ever looking for any =)
Hey Melissa
OK, if it was your dad, that's understandable but mutual friends. I'm surprised. :D
Good to know that Kevin likes the oldies too.
I will email you if I need any. Thanks
still busy? time to blog again... u know... ppl have been lusting about you for the longest time already... ok ok... off topic. haha!
Aiyo... I can only recognise the older songs lah... what does that imply???!!
Hey Zewt,
yeah right! That will be the day. :D
Anyway, I am a little tied up with stuff around here. I realised it is time to blog again but I cannot think of anything to write about. It is a dry spell for me right now. I think the summer heat must have burnt something in my brain. haha
I will try to write something soon. :)
Hi Pi
It implies that you have good tastes in life. (and that you belong to an older and wiser generation.) :D
Pietro Mascagni (an Italian composer) said, "Modern music is as dangerous as narcotics." :)
Any modern music I hear is purely for a workout session. It gets the blood pumping - just like narcotics (not that I have tried any!) :D
hi JT :
Alamah la ...... You tag me ka , I really very crab one , I only know the song when I hear it but never know who is the singer ahhaha you got me... my dear .
mati la this time will take me a very long time to think wat can I do ....
Oh Pearly,
Don't worry lah... take your time. In fact, you don't have to give the singer's name. Just title of the song is enough. Make it easy for yourself. :)
Have fun!
