Tagged... again

I have been tagged again ... This time it is from Lady Patsy. It is called the Hi-5 Meme.

Since I am still on a break (from writing original stuff), I am game for any tags. It does not drain energy from the flickering bulb in my head. Here goes....

5 things found in your bag

1. Wallet - I don't leave home without it.

2. Car keys and house keys - I don't have a driver and neither do I have a butler who opens my house door for me.

3. Handphone - so that I'm just a phone call or text message away.

4. Photos of loved ones - no, I don't carry an album, just a few selected photos.

5. Comb, lipstick palette, lipgloss - yet to put them in one pouch. Right now, it stays in one compartment of my bag.

5 favourite things in your room
(in the States, not here in Germany)

1. Musical keyboard - need music in my life, whether listening to it or playing it myself.

2. Magazines and books - need to read when there is nothing else on TV (yes, even with over 50 channels in the States, I get bored sitting down in front of the TV). Also, need to read something before sleeping.

3. Bag of cross stitch projects - when the mood hits me, I will stitch something for fun. I have put aside big projects for a while but they are just a stitch away to re-starting. hmm... about time I got down to the Last Supper portrait.

4. Bed - where sweet dreams keep me company ... oh yeah, and the other half sleeps there too. ;)

5. My closet - where I store my clothes, accessories, handbags, shoes and boots. I need more space!

5 things you’ve always wanted to do

1. Travel the world and live in communities for the real taste of a different life.

2. Travel to "interesting" places with Patsy anywhere in this world and tell of our adventures in a book.

3. Write about my life, experiences and family.

4. Work with missionaries to help less fortunate and teach their children. Education opens minds and hearts to many things.

5. Run my own or assist in running a shelter for troubled teenagers and/or abused women.

5 things you are currently into

1. Blogging

2. Reading

3. Enjoying life

4. Learning new things

5. Blog-hopping

5 people you WANT TO tag

I won't tag anyone lest I get pelted with cyber-eggs. This is open to anyone who wants to pass on a tagging game. It is fun... try it.

j.t. the ability and that heart to give back is wonderful. Working with missionaries and running a shelter..you have really found 'food for your soul' :)

I love doing cross stitches too..gave friends and family for birthdays, weddings and I remembered I gave hubby a cross-stitch too, it was a precious moment picture with the words 'sew in love' :) Nothing beats receiving something personalised and done with lots of love

cheers

Hi Patsy chweetie

Yeah, look who's talking. :D

I don't mind tags I don't have to do much thinking. Lazy blogger at the moment. hehe

Your photo? Sure got. I have one of you dressed in a gown ... bridesmaid one lah... not night gown. hahaha

Hello Winnie

I hope I will get to fulfil those wishes before it is too late. It makes me feel useful.

Oh yes.. I used to cross stitch gifts too - greeting cards, pot holders, tea towels, and some holy stuff. I love the process of cross stitching because in the end, it feels like I have accomplished something with patience. :)

Hello Celestine

Welcome to my blog.

I believe the original song was from the musical show, The Flower Drum Song.
This version is by Peggy Lee. I picked this one because it was the shortest. I will play the other version over the next few days but they are a little lengthy and some add-ins from live concerts.

Do drop by again. :)

Hello Celestine

The song that is being played today is Lea Salonga's version of "I Enjoy Being a Girl".

I love that song too because it is cute, happy and funny. :)

Hello Princess

That would be great. I thought of the same thing - if I had the money, I would open a shelter.

You are the first person who's telling me that Transformers is boring. I am wondering now if I should even bother making my way to the cinema. Maybe I will wait for it to be released on DVD. I like watching epic tales and romantic comedies. It's been awhile since a movie captured my attention at the cinemas. :)

J.T. said...

Hello dear Pearly

awww.. you give me kind compliments all the time. :)
Thank you dearie.

You are in the same position as my sister. She used to cross stitch before but once her two little 'monkeys' came along, she had to put sewing aside.
I can just imagine how busy you are with three kids. Yup.. no time to be ill too. Usually everything comes to a halt when momma is not well. And when momma's not happy, everyone at home is not happy. :D

Thanks once again for the kind comments. I hope I can fulfill some of my wishes. God willing, there will be a way. :)

JT,
I used to keep my handphone in my handbag. Everytime it rang I'd have one helluva time trying to get the phone from the bag - I seem to grab everything else in the bag BUT the phone. So now I put my handphone in my pocket...

Cross stitch? Not my kind of fun... I may get cross eyed... :)

"Travel to "interesting" places with Patsy anywhere in this world and tell of our adventures in a book."

You don't wanna travel with me?

*Sniff*

Hehe...Kidding ler...Just remember to bring back all the nice food for me, ok?

J.T. said...

Hi Pi,

I used to have that problem - reaching for everything in my bag except my phone. It is frustrating, isn't it?
Sometimes it is just easier wearing the wireless ear piece. Very handy when I want to shop for something and someone calls me. I can talk to that person while browsing through items at the store. Of course, it will look like I am talking to myself (with the earpiece hidden under my hair). I get strange looks when I am walking somewhere out in the open. Mad woman talking to herself :D

Cross stitch = cross eyed.
I know why I stopped for a while - massive headaches from eye strain stitching for more than 5 hours in a day.
Eye strain = old age. hahaha

J.T. said...

Hi Elviza darling

Don't pressure yourself lah... this is just a game. Relax. Do it when you can. :)
Take care sister.

You're about to start cross stitching The Last Supper??? That's just a recipe for RSI! hehe!

How long are you in Germany for? I take it that it's just a temporary stay not a permanent one?

J.T. said...

aww... Daphne sayang,

You are welcome to join us. We will get moving as soon as our money tree in the garden starts yielding some greenbacks. :D

Food stuff... no problem. We will send you food that won't stink up the post office. Our holiday might be cut short having postal workers 'going postal' on Patsy and me.

J.T. said...

ColourMeCrazy

Oh yeah... Repetitive Strain Injury. That is for sure.
Right now, blogging is doing the same thing to me. hahaha

Our stay in Germany is not permanent. Someday we will return to the States. We do not have a specific date at the moment. In the meantime, I am making the best out of temporary living. :)

Hey JT,

As about things in the bag - A lot of us like to carry our lil world with us. :) Apart from that, I also like to read before going to sleep. Have a few books and magazines on my bedside.. Have always had since I was in school. :)

Out of your list of 5 things to do, the first one gave me a sense of deja vu. A close friend and I used to discuss this often. At some point in life, I'd like to travel to another country and live and work there like one of the natives. That could involve working on farm, in a store, or driving a bus.. whatever. That would be so much fun.. don't know how practical that would be .. but fun.. oh yes! :)

I LOVE YOUR FIVE THINGS i.e.

1.your beautiful writings
2.your lovable photographs
3.your sweet stories
4.your long thinkings
5.your all beautiful blogs

J.T. said...

Hi Rashikaps

Yes.. when we put aside practicalities, living like one of the natives in another country is a lot of fun.
Most people who are in another country are there due to studies, jobs, marriage or on holiday. But to give up something comfortable we have today just to taste that adventure, I think we have to check how healthy our bank accounts are before we make that huge move .. just in case. :)

Hello Raghu Ram Prasad,

Hi J.T.,

Did you read about the Live Earth Concert today. It is in my post. For you the nearest stadium would be in Hamburg!:) BTW, in which town do you live?

Kak Teh said...

i want to share five things in my bag:
1. handphone , of course.
2. camera - never leave the house without it.
2. Two types of tape recorders - one digital.
3. money and coins and cards in various pockets as i dont believe in wallets anymore.
4. diary.
5. cosmetic bag.

You dont want to know abt old receipts, old tickets going as far back as last year, old bills etc etc.

J.T. said...

Hi Rajahram,

Hamburg is almost 6 hours away from me (living outside Nuremberg). Quite a drive for a concert. :D

I will be over at your blog to read about it. Thanks.

J.T. said...

Hello Kak Teh

Interesting contents you have there - camera and tape recorders. :)
Actually you give me an idea now. I should start carrying a camera around with me. I will never know when I need it. Thanks.

Hi JT,

Judging from your answers you are a very pratcical person, quite sentimental and wonderfully humanitarian. All good traits. Keep it up honey.

J.T. said...

Hi Ruby

Thank you for your kind comments. Appreciate it very much. I believe I am what I am today because of lessons learned. I am still trying to live up to this saying, "What you are is God's gift to you, what you become is your gift to God."

Hi&Lo said...

JT,

Thanks for your kind words in Ruby's blog. I like the line that shapes your life, "What you are is God's gift to you, what you become is your gift to God."

How we want to give back to God makes us strive for the best. MGS Ipoh has the motto, "Our utmost for the highest."

You have recaptured my imagination.

Lee said...

Hi JT, wow! You play the keyboard, huh? Whats your favourite tunes?
"Yellow rose of Texas"? Ha ha.
I always dread when my Mrs asks me to get something from her handbag. Easier to find chincharloke in a grocery store that finding whatever in a woman's handbag.
Once I couldn't find what I was looking for and over turned everything on the table...needless to say I had the opportunity to try out our foodcourt for couple of days, ha ha. Lee.

J.T. said...

Hello Hi&Lo,

I hope you are feeling better.

MGS Ipoh's motto is motivating. It makes me believe that when I give my best, I can achieve the ultimate.

Thank you Hi&Lo. Wishing you a good weekend. :)

J.T. said...

Hi U.Lee,

My favourite tunes are usually the oldies. One of it was my grandma's favourite - Stardust (circa 30s).
I have a few favourites from each decade.
"Yellow rose of Texas"? I can play that. I love to put on the country rhythm to accompany it - lots of fun.

Re handbag. Once I asked Mitch to get something from my bag, he kept saying "where? where?" while rummaging through it. Finally, I had to walk over to my bag and get it myself. Luckily he did not over turn everything on the table, or he would have to live on baked beans for a while - straight out of the can. hahaha

I hope you did not have to eat at the food court for too many days. :D

travelling to places no man has travelled before is exciting for me eventhough a little unbelieveable! anyway, may all your dreams come true :)

J.T. said...

Hello Wailer,

If you have about RM70 million to spare, you can take a ride to outer space. Very few men have been there before. But where no men has travelled before - ok, a little unbelievable. You could travel in your dreams, though. :) All the best.
