Animation Time

These animations and its creator were first brought to my attention by my cousin, Melissa.

Alan Becker, who recently graduated from high school, is the creator of the animations in this post. You can read more about him at his website. Now, let's just get to the good stuff.

Here are a couple of his creations:

Animator vs. Animation

Artist's Comments

An animator faces his own animation in deadly combat. The battlefield? The Flash interface itself. A stick figure is created by an animator with the intent to torture. The stick figure drawn by the animator will be using everything he can find - the brush tool, the eraser tool - to get back at his tormentor. It's resourcefulness versus power. Who will win? You can find out yourself.

-- This took three long months.. i think it's worth it.

Animator vs. Animation II

Artist's Comments

The animator, looking for a challenge, decides to make the stick figure harder to beat. Little does he know exactly how much power he is giving to the little guy. Long live The Chosen One!

This took me five months.

It recently ranked in the top 25 of the Ohio Governor's Show!

Wah JT,

You lost me on that post...Not that there's anything wrong with it, but my brain shuts down when words like Interface comes up...Drawback to the times when I had to learn Computer studies, and hated it!

Take care, and looking forward to seeing you back, fullswing!

*Hugs*

Thanks for visiting. Glad you like the animations.

By the way, I this quote in your blog - "Men are much more likely to do housework if the floor is strewn with mines." Funny. :)

Hey Zewt,

Yes, Melissa is my cousin. A bubbly and intelligent one. :)

I thought the creator of those animations, Alan Becker, is brilliant.
I have a feeling you will excel in something creative. You should consider it, Zewt. Accounting can be your backup. :)

Hi JT, I guess this animation business is beyond me as well my Jurassic computer. Think I'll stick to studying women architecture, easier on the brain, ha ha. Lee.

Hi Dawn

Awesome animations, aren't they?
I watched them over and over again. Love the creativity.

P.S. I am easily entertained too. ;)

Hi Lee,

Not jurassic, Lee... classic. :D

Animations are not everyone's cup of tea. Everyone has different interests. That is what makes the world interesting.

I think you are doing very well in the women architecture department. :D (Some men I know probably need lessons from you.)

You keep well, Lee.

Hey Cuz Melissa,

I market people for free. :D

Flash probably never existed when I was 17 years old. (Even if it did, the technology was probably the industry's secret). Mobile phones then were like boulders, not forgetting computer monitors - huge! The biggest excitement for me at 19 was learning how to type documents on the computer using WordStar v.3 (I think). :D

Enough of my old stories... that Alan Becker is definitely a brilliant dude. By the way, Melissa, you are just as talented - I am guessing you are more analytical. :)
