Come on baby, layer me!

The gorgeous Ruby Ahmad (a.k.a. Ruby Diamonds) revealed her 'inner secrets' in a previous posting titled, The Layered Me. She did not tag anyone but left it open for any brave blogger to play the game. I do enjoy a challenge or two and this game seemed like a fun thing to do on a lazy afternoon. So, I volunteered. Here we go...

Layer One: On the Outside

Name: Okelani Lanikai What's your Hawaiian Name?
Birthdate: If you must know, it is four days before cupid's busiest day of the year.
Current status: Happy-Go-Lucky. Staying happy, getting lucky
Eye color: As brown as you want it to be.
Hair Color: Dark brown today, golden brown tomorrow; As long as I cover my grays, I have no sorrow
Righty or Lefty: Mighty Righty

Layer Two: On the Inside

My heritage: Rojak with a bit of madu and chili
My fears: Not telling because it will be used against me
My Weaknesses: Not telling because it will be used against me
My perfect pizza: Focaccia crust with a generous serving of mushrooms.

Layer Three: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

My thoughts first thing when I wake up: Coffee!!
My bedtime: When my eyes cannot stay open anymore.
My most missed memory: Days of old when mum and dad were still alive

Layer Four: My picks

Pepsi or Coke: Need the real thing, baby!
McDonald's or Burger King: Neither one. Not much of a fast food fan. I will eat only when there is a craving for it usually about once or twice a month.
Single or Group Dates: Depends who I am with.

Adidas or Nike: Nike
Tea or Nestea: Green tea, black tea, flavoured tea, all teas (leave the milk out.. blecch!)
Chocolate or Vanilla: Dark Chocolate only
Cappuccino or Coffee: Coffee in the morning and night. Cappuccino - anytime of the day, with whipped cream.

Layer Five: Do I

Smoke: No
Curse: Like a sailor when no one hears (no offence to sailor-bloggers out there)

Take a shower: Oh yes... hot showers in Germany, cold showers in Malaysia
Have a crush: Must tell, ah? *ahem*
Think I've Been In love: Yes... with life

Go to school: No. My brain does not want to function when it comes to studying.
Want to get married: The last time I checked, I held the keys to the ball and chain
Believe in myself: Sometimes.
Think I'm a health freak: No. I go to the gym when I feel like it. I eat what I want, when I want - everything in moderation.

Layer Six: In the past month

Drank alcohol: Yesh *hic*
Gone to the mall: Too far from my place to even think about it
Been on stage: Got close to one

Eaten Sushi: No
Dyed your hair: Dark brown today, golden brown tomorrow; As long as I cover my grays, I have no sorrow

Layer Seven: Have I ever

Played a stripping game: *Ahem* - for me to know and for you to never find out
Changed who I am to fit in: I could have but I don't recall now. If I did, it was probably in my teen years.

Layer Eight: Age

I am hoping to be married: What?? Still dealing with the current one. I cannot think about the next one.

Layer Nine: What Was I Doing

1 min ago: Drinking coffee and typing this
1 hour ago: Cursing. My initial draft got wiped out. Re-doing this now. waaa!
4.5 hours ago: Sleeping soundly in bed and dreaming

1 month ago: Volunteered to be tagged by Typhoon Sue of Tattlerama. Posting titled The Year was 1985
1 year ago: Packing up to return to the States

Layer Ten: Finish The Sentence

I love: my life
I feel: my life
I hate: an unkind world

I hide: my deepest feelings
I need: adventure!

Layer Eleven: Tag 5 people

I am not going to impose this on anyone (some people don't enjoy being tagged). So, just like Ruby, I am leaving it open. If you are looking for something to blog about while working on your next posting, this will be a fun filler.

(Oh dear, my comment box was not 'activated' earlier today. Thanks Ruby, for alerting me. I appreciate it very much)

Hi JT, WhoooHooo! Now I know about you. Ha ha. Love this posting.
Bet you cheated at strip poker, huh? I mean you wore extra clothing, arhaaa ha ha.
I remember playing that at Batu Ferringgi long time ago, the girls cheated, all had double wear, ha ha.
So you a coffee gal, huh. Me too. Mesti ada my Maxwell House first thing in the morning, last thing before I sleep. No coffee cannot sleep.
The mall far away? What? You staying in the Ardennes?
Btw, you go to those beer festivals? Ooom paaa or whatever!
Auf weidesehn, JT.

"Far across deep blue waters, lives an old German's daughter,
By the banks of the old river Rhine.
Where I loved her and left her, but I can't forget her
I miss my pretty Fraulein.

FrauIein, Fraulein, look up toward the Heaven
Each night when the stars start to shine,
By the same stars above you, I swear that I love you,
You are my pretty fraulein.

When my memories wander, away over yonder
To the sweetheart that I left behind,
In a moment of glory, a face comes before me
The face of my pretty fraulein.

Fraulein, Fraulein, walk down by the river,
Pretend that your hand's holdin' mine,
By the same stars above you, I swear that I love you,
You are my pretty fraulein".
JT, Somehow popping into your post brings this song to mind. I'm sure you know it. I love it.
You have a great day, UL.

Hello Hokulani Alana
Yeah, I like that name Alana. Actually suits you, Ms Ruby Diamonds.
'Donch play play' with this Serani kodok. Wrong step, kena 'sting'. haha
It was a pleasure for me to take up that challenge. It was lots of fun. Thanks Ruby... oops. Hokulani.

Hello LUJ
I did not realise that my comment box was not on. Usually it stays on by default but lately blogger change something in there and now I find I have to use post option to make sure it is marked "allow comments". sigh.. technology
Yup, no shopping mall close to my place. The closest is probably about one hour away. 'Tak larat la' drive that far just for window shopping. I rather stay home and blog. You are right.. less spending. hehe But the pocket not getting any thicker. The regular stores around here keep me 'busy'. :)
LUJ, I would tell you some things in person (email la) but since this is an open channel, semua orang tau. Malu or takut la..
It is nice to know someone is willing to protect me. :)

J.T. said...

Hello Ruby ....love to see you here again.
I forgot my manners too. I did not thank you for the compliments you gave me. OK la.. now we even ah. hahaha
Have a lovely week.

J.T. said...

Hello my charming U.Lee,
Aha! My posting said stripping game. I am not saying it was strip poker. It could be any kind of game. I will now leave it to your imagination. hahahaha
When the girls play strip poker with guys, the guys usually do not get to see much because the girls will always wear extra. haha (not that I did that before la.) ;)

Wow.. U.Lee, We are the same when it comes to our coffee fix. The coffee actually calms me. If no coffee -toss and turn, for sure. I drink Folgers. Love the Gourmet and Colombian selections.
By the way, I take my coffee like my men - steamy, robust and sweet with a play of whipped cream. hahahaha

Ya la.. the mall is about one hour away. I live in a small German town, about one hour from Nuremberg. Ardennes? ... funneee!

Beer festivals - I have not been to one since 2002. I cannot 'tahan' the crowd. It is a noisy and boisterous affair. The bands going 'oom pah pah, oom pah pah'. Of course, if I did not try it once in my life, then I won't know - that was in 2001. I'd rather be in a quiet restaurant enjoying a good meal and a glass or two of wine. :) Having said that, I think if I had a boisterous gang with me, then it won't matter. I will leave the beer hall with a headache but it would have been worth it. :)
Love the song U.Lee. Thank you for gracing my blog with that. Lovely!
Have a nice week ahead.

Hi JT, forgot to mention I only drink cold coffee except first one in the morning, luke warm.
Then others will be strictly iced coffee.
I only drink hot coffee when visiting friends homes in Germany, near Nuremberg or a beautiful lady's residence wearing beads with Hawaiian name in KL.
Would you believe I have never had a Starbucks? Or a Folgers? I like Nescafe though. Seen the Starbuck stores, but for some reason when seeing the prices, I change my mind.
No la, I'm not a kedukut or 5 cents like bullock cart wheel guy....but when I pay $1.96 for a big bottle of Maxwell House that lasts me 2 weeks...well, you know.
You know, I was in Seoul, Korea sometime ago and as usual can't go to sleep without that coffee, so ordered one. The cup so small I thought they were joking playing doll games or something, don't think it will fill a dinner soup spoon. The bill for that one tiny cup?
US $4.00!!! Holy Smoke! Almost choked on my Lucky Strike!
Well....from now on, I will carry my own packet instant coffee when staying in those places. US $4.00!! Its criminal, man!
I really enjoy making my own coffee too. I make coffee for my Mrs every morning but quite a hassle! One morning, its Maxwell House, next morning, "can I have tea today"? Next day, "make me an Ovaltine, please". Very lecheh la! Not to mention not good for my old brain early in the morning, confusing.
Psssst, any young Frauleins you know, ones wearing Vera Wangs or Versace? Methinks time to have a new one. Wife I mean, not coffee. Preferably not the 'ooompapa' crowd. Arhaaa ha ha. UL.

J.T. said...

U.Lee,
You are humourous. Past midnight and I am trying to suppress my laughter so the 'suami' won't wake up. :)
I haven't been able to drink cold coffee/iced coffee since grandma shocked my system with her room-cold coffee with milk! I must have it steamy.
Wow.. I thought you would have tried Starbucks being in Canada and hip Uncle like you. Yah..but I agree - seeing their prices makes me think twice too, especially when I am in Malaysia. Alamak, one coffee there can buy me some 'rotis' and a few rounds of 'teh-o-peng'. Sometimes cannot 'tahan' the craving - give in la and pay Starbuck's prices.
Small coffee for US$4.00. Why does that sound familiar? Definitely a crime! Not being 'kedekut' too but I don't see a point in paying that much when I can carry a small 'water cooker' and my instant coffees, teas and cocoa - usually within Germany.
Psst.. I have two frauleins in mind but you might have to get past their daddy's shotgun first. They are pretty little things of mix parentage - Puerto Rican and German. Gorgeous! Ah.. but one of them more like rocker-gal - so no Vera Wangs or Versace. The other one a bit less shocking. See la, which one you find more suitable. The rocker-gal is a blonde with blue eyes while her sister is a little more sultry with brunette hair and hazel-coloured eyes. Let me know ok? I write it down in my 555 booklet and start negotiations with the daddy.

this is a sure fun way to fill up those boring un-productive days.

just wanna check on layer 7 - have u ever played a stripping game? aww, come on JT..u & yr hubby? never done it before...hehehe

J.T. said...

Hello Oliana Keilana (TrueBlue)... what a cool name! Love it.
Hope you brought your grass skirt and coconut shells. That is the dress code while this posting stays current. Guys must wear Hawaiian shirts and funky shorts. hehe

J.T. said...

Hi KC,
Yeah, it does rhyme with tembikai. Unfortunately I am not endowed with a set of 'tembikais' hahaha
If not, poems would be composed to celebrate the 'enormous' part of my life.
This is definitely a fun thing to do. You should try it the next time you have another "Never Eat Rice ah?" day. hehe
My unproductive day has suddenly gone wacky.
Hmm... layer number 7: Stripping game. *Ahem* - for me to know and for you to know just one more thing. Hint: it was not a card game. Some things should remain mysterious. hehe

Pi Bani said...

Aiyah.. this Hawaiian name really really kelentong one lah! First try I was Alana Keini, next try I was Kamea Kane. Might as well just stick to Pi Bani (or Pea Bunny if you still insist... :))

J.T. said...

My dear Pi Bani
Let's just leave yours as 'Pea Bunny'.hehehe I think it is cute. No need to go through the hassle.
That Hawaiian name generator is just for fun. Try it once and accept the name given. I like your name Alana Keini on the first try. Nice. Somewhat like Ruby's - Hokulani Alana.
Don't worry about the dress code here - grass skirt and coconut shells. Not mandatory. hehe

rad said...

hi jt,
All that I can remember abt Hawaii is that coconut thingie as dress material (UL's fantasy pic?) Heheheh..
How come we're suppose to get to know you but there're still many things that you're not telling us? Don't worry we're among 'friends' here - your secret is safe...assuming ur hubby didn't read your blog,or does he?
Trust LUJ to notice the so called lack of shopping mall in your vicinity but UL too? hahahaha
I can see UL is complaining abt lecheh buat kopi utk isteri eh? Should we report that to the relevant authority? ;-)

J.T. said...

Hello Rad
Aiyah.. can't a girl have some secrets? hehe
Let's see what did I not reveal...
1. Fears
2. Weaknesses
3. Do I have a crush?
4. Have I ever played a stripping game?
I don't think hubby reads my blog. But if he does without my knowledge, there is nothing to hide. OK lah.. you have a valid point there. I will reveal these:
1. Fear - heights
2. Weaknesses - *ahem* 'daydream' about men who look good in smart military uniform! (the handsomer they are, the hotter they look!)haha
3. Crush - got la.. but must remain a secret until I get over him. hahaha
4. Stripping game - *ahem* it was not part of a card game.
There you go Rad - mostly answered.
Yeah, trust LUJ and U.Lee to notice there are no malls around here for me. I don't really miss it but they apparently do for me. haha
Who shall we report U.Lee to? The Coffee Police or the Coffee-Wives Club?

Lee said...

Hi JT, Holy Smoke! Pi Bunny ada Hawaiian name. Somemore going to wear a grass skirt? This one even if Salma Hayek invite me for dinner, I sure take a rain cheque....see Pi Bani in grass skirt lagi shok ohh! Arhaaa ha ha. I sure got to wear safety belts like that.
And Rad want to report me to authorities re my wanting to trade in my wife for new model? Ha ha. Shhhh, just looking around la.
By the way JT, I love exotic Puerto Ricans, all Hispanics actually, they betul panas one la, got to wear sunglasses just to look at them.
For some reason or other I am attracted to tanned ladies, but yet I married a woman so fair when she drinks Chinese tea can see the tea going down her throat, arhaaa ha ha.
I think I might be too old for the young Puerto Rican girl or German Fraulein, how about their mothers? Hey, I love matured women too, especially those whose husbands don't keep shotguns at home.
Arhaaa ha ha.
Aloha to you, UL.

Thanks for giving us a peep into your wonderful world.

J.T. said...

Hi U.Lee,
I told 'Pea Bunny' a.k.a. Alana Keini that it is not mandatory to use the grass skirts and coconut shells. Of course I am hoping in a fantasy world of ours, everyone not shy. I am still waiting for Hi&Lo to appear in his Hawaiian shirt and funky shorts. hahaha

Isn't it ironic that I have the same taste as you do .. exotic Hispanics? They as so 'muy caliente' (very hot), I have to keep applying 'eye-mo' in my eyes to soothe the burning sensations. haha

Ya la, I think those two frauleins are way too young for you. Let me see who I can find for you. Cancel order for two frauleins *scratching out their names in my 555 booklet*. hahaha

J.T. said...

A silent reader for one month. Wow! I can't manage that. Sooner or later, I am going to 'kaypoh' and say something. :)
Nice to know that you are on the same wavelength. Nearing 50 ah? Still young! I feel like I am in my early 30s but sometimes my body reminds not to get too ambitious. :D
Hope to see you around. Don't stay silent anymore. Join in when you can.

Hi JT, wow! Sure got heavy traffic your blog. Had to take a number. Pi Bani as usual arrived late, she drive slow even in her Alfa Romeo, so being a gentleman, I gave her my number first, and nanti behind again.
Holy Smoke! Can see some exotic names now...what with Hawaiian names de rigueur, Pi Bani pun? okay la, I now will come as MacGarett of Hawaii 5-0. Love to say, "book 'em, Dano"!
Maybe should give Pi Bani a driving ticket for driving 25 kph in a 80 kph zone, "book her, Dano"!
There was some earlier problems with the Blog! Alamak, I had a new post about to publish, took me 2 days and nights to construct...it totally disappeared! Wa, like hearing a husband coming home unexpectedly, arhaaa ha ha.
I think got to mandi ayer bunga on my pc.
You have a nice day, JT.

J.T. said...

U.Lee
You kena from Pi Bani now. Your head hurting ah.. from all those coconut shells? hehe
The Hawaiian names started because in the first question of this posting, I had to reveal my name. I assumed readers know my name by now, my blog name shouts it out shamelessly. So, I decided to introduce my Hawaiian name using the name generator from BlogThings. Some of our pals here clicked on that blue link next to my name and found out their own Hawaiian name.
OKla.. you come as McGarrett of Hawaii 5-0. That was a cool show, wasn't it? I can hear the theme song play in my head and remember a scene of that girl in grass skirt shakin' away. Boy! she could shake.
U.Lee, I had the same problem on Sunday. I had to re-do this current posting because it completely disappeared. It is unfortunate that you lost two days worth of work. The frustration of losing my work was like having a hot-blooded Latino near me and I am unable to do anything to him! hahaha

Wah! U got that thing abt men in uniform too? Military men are ok except the navy - what a funny collar they've got! I like all men in 'uniform' whether the policemen (sans the misai melenting), army, pilot&steward, Camel guys in advert, construction sites type, even men in office wear! Heheheheh...it's not their faces but everything abt them!

Hello Tunku
Leave it to a writer like you to see the potential. :)
And the mention of pandan cake has got me craving for it now. *thinking of pandan cake and hot plain tea* yummm.

J.T. said...

Hi Mat Salo,
I had to put it in layers because the game played it that way - had no choice.
Having said that, I don't deny that past experiences have contributed to some layering - not thick layers, though. The layers are easily peeled off as people get to know me better through personal interaction. Then, I become somewhat of WYSIWYG. :)
Not many guys are like you Mat Salo - wearing their hearts on their sleeves. Some women appreciate that. Still, are you sure you are 100% WYSIWYG? hehe
I am sure got a bit of layers meh! ;)

J.T. said...

Hi Rad
mmmmm...men in uniform. :)
I agree with you that that particular Navy uniform is not so nice. Did you know they have several kinds to wear. Rank and file personnel have their set of uniforms and officers have their own too. The one we see with that funny collar is for regular use by rank and file. I like their No. 1 uniform - for official functions. Sends shivers down my spine! haha
By the way, some time back, I sat in a restaurant that was hosting lunch for Air Force pilots. Half of them were in flight suits and the other half in their official uniforms. I took a long time to finish my lunch that day! haha
Oh yes Rad, I agree with you ...it is not their faces - it is the package (no pun intended!) they come in. :)

J.T. said...

Hey Sue
Ya la.. Tunku Halim mentioned pandan layer cake and that got me craving for it. :)
Now you tell me you are eating Nasi Lemak as you type your comment. I want that too. waaa! Where am I going to find these things in Germany??? Don't ask me to 'buat sendiri'. I rather eat what other people cook.
This game is open - feel free to take it at anytime. Although I still had some topics to pick from my jar of ideas, I decided to take this game. Easy la... not much thinking to do. :) Looking forward to reading your layers!

J.T. said...

Hello Trueblue
You too? I love it. The song 'Big Spender' gives out a sexy vibe.
Actually ah.. that is a darn good stripping song. hahahaha
Throw in some high heels, stockings - fish net or whatever works for him, some provocative outfit (whatever works for him), maybe a chair or pole (hahaha), and lots of strutting, teasing and *ahem* ... well, never mind. I will leave it to imagination. :P
Now, how does this song remind you of your growing up days? This comment of mine must have tarnished that innocent image, huh? :)

J.T. said...

Hi Raden sayang..

Looking forward to reading the layered you.
