Men ... They Fascinate Me!
I love to talk about men. Well, not all the time but they have been my favourite subject since I discovered God's other mysterious creation. Lady Patsy and I have endless discussions about men; especially when something about them comes up (no pun intended) in our lives.
My special teenhood girlfriend and a lifetime pal, Anne and I spent many hours trying to figure out men. We could never come to a conclusion about them. We still discuss about men today.
Ah men! They just fascinate me. Cool ones, quiet ones, mysterious ones. Oh! then there are sizzling hot ones, mischievous ones, charming ones... and the list goes on. I grew up with older brothers so their friends were mine too. I interacted with them easily. I could never complain that there were not enough boys to admire. They were everywhere!
I am no expert in the subject of men. While they fascinate me, they also confuse me. I have learned about them through my trials and errors. I read up about them in magazines and books.
Recently, at Lady Patsy's Chambers, I shared tips (which I borrowed from Cosmopolitan magazine) on How To Put Smile On His Face (titled Chambers Refurbished, Men Smiling) . I've also borrowed U.Lee's joke about the simplicity of men. Apparently, it does not take much to impress a man. You think?
How about this? Do we think Men Really Are Cavemen Still? Lady Patsy sweared when she published that posting, she did not mean to bash men. I don't believe she dislikes men. The way she speaks of her first love in her latest posting is evident enough. He was so special that she never found another one like him. John was her kind of man.
I will be away for a couple of days but that does not mean my mind will not be here. Blogging and blog-hopping is like coffee to me now - a daily fix needed in the mornings and nights. I must not forget to bring a journal with me so I can jot down my thoughts for future postings. I have an excuse to use one I purchased recently.
Note to Tony (SUP): Remember the song, Stand By Your Man? ;)

Do you know how tough it is being a man...?
If you like a woman to shave her legs and keep in shape, you're sexist. If you don't, you're unromantic.

Hi Jamy
Glad you appreciate my humor. :P
Men.. they fascinate me. haha
Hi JT, here's some answers for you. Have fun while away, we'll be here. Until then, Vaya con dios. UL. Men think monogamy is something you make dining tables out of.

If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one,
go ahead, get married.

I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine marriage and a career.

Men...You can't live with them, you can't live without them :)
Venus...someone from Mars here calling. You're just too much, now I'm going to be floating all aver the rig today, so kembang one, perhaps falling off the sides if I don't watch it.. with what you left on my blog laa. Thanks for "being entertained" -Thanks a million, JT!
Aah you women, so fleeting... Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. I I love 'em all.. Guess I'm lucky JT, my job affords me to be away 2/3rds of the time. Just enough for the longing to set in. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, no? But after a few while, the better half gets all antsy and goes, 'hmmmm, so when you're going to Indo again?'
I know she loves me so, but once in a while it's nice to have a break from me I guess.. :)
Eh, was wondering about that - why guys "go" first.. ha ha ha
I don't need a man to make me complete.
I don't need a man to give my life meaning.
I don't even need a man to provide financial security.
But ... I love the feeling of being loved by a man. Appreciated. Respected. Cherished. Needed.
I've known men in my life whose smile could eradicate my exhaustion of worries from a hard day at work.
Their simple touch or kiss could work miracles for my self-esteem.
The sound of their voice in a late-night call could warm me on the coldest of nights.
No, I don't need a man to come into my life and change my identity or surround me with security.
But life would sure be dull without them!
Hello U.Lee
Love the answers, especially:
"If you want to sacrifice the admiration of many men for the criticism of one, go ahead, get married." - Katharine Hepburn
hmmm... I think it is possible to have both. ;)
Hello Trueblue
So true, my dear. sigh... :)
Mat Salo
As I mentioned in your blog, I am still experiencing the 'afterglow' from reading your posting. haha
Plagiarize or not, you have one 'satisfied' customer here. ;)
When you are away from home that much, it makes you appreciate your wife and family more, doesn't it?
Oh yeah, I can understand how your wife feels. She gets so used to you being away, she has her own routine. But I bet she misses you like crazy when you are not around.
When hubby is away, it is like this for me:
First week away - "merdeka". Time is my own, can do and go wherever I want without worrying about cooking and house chores.
Second week - "alamak, this is getting too lonely. Miss his company and comfort".
Third week - "honey, come back quickly. I cannot function without you!" hehe
Have a nice and 'floaty' day.
Venus. Over and out.
Pat sweetie... finally, I see you around here again. :)
Oh! I can see where you are coming from. You are independent but you still love to be loved by a man, appreciated, respected, cherished and needed.
Problem is (my two cents worth) some men get intimidated by independent women. They don't realise the things you mentioned are the fundamentals in a woman's life. We can't blame men entirely because they were brought up (and have a natural instinct) to provide and protect. So, I think, when they see you are independent and can 'slay dragons' on your own, they just spruce up their shining armour, get up on that horse and ride to the next village to save a damsel who is really distress. They need to be someone's hero. :)
hi j.t.,
I used to dislike men so much... they seemed so 'alien'... once I got my man, he's everything to me..he's my superhero(with underpants worn inside not outside lah ) ... I guess I'm so lucky to have my man as my hero ( sorry to say, not many men are superheroes nowadays !! )
tumpang lalu,
uncle lee... which type are you ?? The dead or the deadly ????
hahaha :P
Hi LUJ
Maybe we could say that every woman has her own superhero (underpants worn anyway he wants. haha). You know, one (wo)man's meat is another (wo)man's poison. :)
Anyway, I think all it takes is just that one man in your life to convince you, by his positive actions, that not all men are bad.
MEN? What are men like?
Men are like.....placemats.
They only show up when there's food on the table.
Men are like.....mascara.
They usually run at the first sign of emotion.
Men are like.....bike helmets.
Handy in an emergency, but otherwise they just look silly.
Men are like.....government bonds.
They take so long to mature.
Men are like.....parking spots.
All the good ones are taken.
Men are like.....copiers.
You need them for reproduction, but that's about it.
Men are like.....lava lamps.
Fun to look at, but not all that bright.
Men are like.....bank accounts.
Without a lot of money, they don't generate much interest.
Men are like.....high heels.
They're easy to walk on once you get the hang of it.
Men are like.....miniskirts.
If you're not careful, they'll creep up your legs.
Hahahahaha Pi Bani
I thought this was a posting honouring men. I guess it could only last for awhile. Then we are back to bashing them. :)
Here's one:
There are only four animals that a woman needs in her life:
1. A Jaguar in her garage
2. A Mink in her closet
3. A Tiger in her bed
4. A Jackass to pay for it all!!
Cheers!
haha... are you still very interested in figuring us out? the interest never dies eh?
put it this way, as much as women wanna understand men... we men also find it tough to understand women. i think that's how God intended us to be... always mysterious and always trying to impress and figure each other out.
and yeah... really tough to be a an... especially in this new era... :)
Hi Zewt
Nope... the interest will never die. Still trying to figure out you guys. :)
Maybe you are right. That is the fun part - as long as we remain mysterious to each other, there will always be something to pursue.
I had a feeling that it is tougher to be a man these days. Some women no longer look for men to fill the traditional role. But some women still do. There is hope yet. :)
Hi JT, tumpang your space here answer Loveujordan. I was 'deadly' when young with my red Alfa Romeo and a happy bank manager.
Today half dead with my Lincoln and not so happy bank manager, ha ha.
Wow! Pi Babi...you sure know about us men, huh?
Okay, I'll be on my best behaviour when buying you kopi.
You guys have a nice day, UL.
U.Lee, please go right ahead. I wanted to know your answer to LoveYouJordan's question too.
Funny!
I was happy to see Pi Bani's contribution to a short male-bashing session. haha I have archived that for future use. :)
i love all the quotes including from pi bani's and ulee's. cleverly written. i wonder who wrote all that.
going somewhere on a holiday JT? and come back with more interesting stories. i'm waiting...
Jacq....always enjoy your posting and the quality of your comment-posters. A great bunch of fans you have in here. I am asking my daughter in the bahamas to include you for her morning breakfast. Thats an honor I bestow on people. Am thinking about the layers....a bit wrinkled though.
JT :o)
~ miss you!
~ we have the same interest ;o)
~ have a fun holliday/trip and hope to see you soon :o)
Hi JT,
You are right, men are fascinating. Vise versa we are fascinating to them too. After all one can't do without the other, right?
I agree that if we were to be given two or even three lifetimes, we will never be able to figure each other out. When we do, we are all in trouble...ha ha..boredom will quickly set in!!
Jac Dear,
Ah my dosage of humour. YOU ARE GOOD AT IT! Seriously no kidding.
What a pity that you are going away. Come back soon with new posting
Hello KC
They are cleverly written quotes, aren't they? Always enjoy reading them.
I am replying your comment from a neighbouring country in Europe. It is not really a holiday as in a mini-pilgrimage. As I type this, I am trying to figure out their keyboard. Some alphabets and punctuations are not where they are supposed to be. :)
I will be back in Germany Monday morning. Miss blogging.
Hello Zorro
Awww.. I am honoured and humbled - another loving 'Z' slash right on my heart. Thank you for making my day. :)
Hello Syana
I miss you too. I waiting to catch you on YM to tell you all about it (our same interests... I assume - men!) haha
Thanks for the wishes. I will be back at my own proper keyboard by Monday night (Tuesday morn - Msian time).
Ciao bella!
Hello Ms Gorgeous Ruby
What will do without them? I am glad that we are still trying to figure out each other. If we did already, this world would be dull. You are absolutely correct there. :) ahh... men.
Elviza darling
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am now floating from your compliments. Of course, a couple of 'yummylicious' men around here are giving me the same effect. haha
I will be back with something new.. soon. I have some silly tales to tell after this trip. :)
Hi JT,
Yesterday I was at Putra World Trade Centre attending an international forum, so at lunch we were entertained by some musicians on stage. One of the songs was 'Jingling Nona'...I thought of you..he he.
Hi Ruby
Nice to know they played the Malaysian Portuguese anthem. haha Thanks for thinking of me. :)
well...i'm a men..hehe
Hello dx-xel
Welcome to my blog. Glad you admitted that you are a man. :D
jt - sorry abt the long silence - doing the headless chicken routine. Men? too late - i fell for one,
Hi Kak Teh
It sure has been a long time. So nice to hear from your again.
Yeah, me too.. fell for one and paying the price. haha
Just kidding... he is a gem. :)
In order to preserve the beauty of being mysterious… I shall remain ‘difficult’ to understand… hah! That’s how it is for a pole…holes have to make continuous effort to understand poles.
Hey Zewt
I think poles are having a hard time too (take it anyway you want it - haha) with holes.
So we shall remain mysterious to each other as long as we both shall live.
One thing I know, a hole usually holds the power. No pole is going to lay claim on any hole if the hole does not make space for the pole. ;)
hahahah rotflmao
Good one
Hey Darthvadai
Welcome to my world of nonsense. Glad you liked it. I have not been able to write like this for a while. As soon as I find my muse and pull her out of her drunken state, I can get back to writing again. :P
Cheers!
