Slowing down
Time is flying by so fast. By the time I am done with what I had set out to do for the day, I am tired and can hardly sit up to blog or blog hop. If I have been absent in your blog for a while, please excuse me. Also, I used to be very prompt with replying emails and now I feel bad that I have slacked in that department too.Sometimes I wish I knew what to blog about but it is just not clicking 'up there'. I have told myself in the past that I will not stress myself about it. So, until I can find a routine and divide my time equally with everything I wish to accomplish in a day (and have an idea of what to write), I will blog when time permits.
In the meantime, here's something for you (and a gentle reminder to some thoughtful friends of ours that if they have to forward good stuff, please send something new) ;) ......
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear All,
My thanks to all those who have sent me emails this past year........
I must send my thanks to whoever sent me the one about rat shit in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet towel with every envelope that needs sealing.
Also, I now have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason.
I no longer have any savings because I gave them to a sick girl who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time.I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program .....
Or from the senior bank clerk in Nigeria who wants me to split $7 million with me for pretending to be a long lost relative of a customer who died intestate.
I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has granted my every wish.
I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.
Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.
Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca-Cola because it can remove toilet stains.
I no longer can buy petrol without taking a someone along to watch the car to prevent a serial killer crawling into the back seat when I'm filling up.
I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.
I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica, Uganda ,Singapore and Uzbekistan.
Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my bum.And thanks to your great advice, I can't even pick up the £5.00 I found dropped in the car park because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg.
If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minutes, a large seagull with diarrhoea will land on your head at 5:00pm this afternoon and the fleas from 12 mangy camels will infest your backside, causing you to grow a hairy lump. I know this will occur, because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbour's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician.
By the way....a South American scientist, after a lengthy study, has discovered ,that people with high but low IQ who have infrequent sexual activity, always read their e-mails with their hand on the mouse. Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late. (Now's that a good one.)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
... And hopefully, I will come up with something new (and original) to blog about soon (and cease sharing stuff from my email archives!).

im starting to feel like u too j.t., seems as if there isnt enough time. I have slowed down on my blogging too...
dont sweat, ure doing great..take good care and catch up soon!
Haha...I've received something like this before... But I've never heard of the big brown African spider :P
As for not blogging often, I'd say that in blogging, quality is certainly better than quantity! :)
j t,
Just take it easy. Do things at your own pace. You will enjoy it more that way. Know your priority and definitely blogging cant be on the very top of the list however much you like it.
Thanks for the forwards. It sums up most of the items being forwarded to our mails. I trash them immediately upon recept as I consider them as spams and never believe in any of them.
u never cease to amaze me with yr email archives - they're hilarous!
this slow down is catching on with me too...
i just hope i dont shut down it twice!
Helo JT,
Take it easy...should be ok one. No need to stress urself out.
U have a great week ahead now.
Cheers.
Blogger's block sista?
Ah, I have that all the time.
Fear not, writing too should be a journey. And what is a journey without a stumbling block or two hey?
I know what you mean. There are so many things I need or want to do.
How I wish time can wait for me. Sometimes I feel like a chicken runing without it's head.
At times I too have no idea what to blog about. I use those times to complete my other hobbies. And hoping for an inspiration. :)
Since my blog is to update my Sis, so it is kind of easy to have something to post.
if u need to take a break... then take it... blogging has really taking its toll on me already.
ok... my hand was on the mouse.
jt, what can i send but my best wishes...Take care - I too might disappear but I dont know when.
kah kah kah. thts just too funny JT. dont kno wht to write? dont worry abt tht either. we all have the same problem. *hugs*
Hey JT,
Blog about your hobbies, cross stitch for one. Tell us how it feels moving back to the US. But do it at your convenience.
This one wasn't on your list - Made some Hundred wishes before forwarding those religous messages.. now most of those 'Wishes' are already
married (to someone else!! :)))
By the way, superstitious people still fwd those dumb mails. :(
Hi Jacqui ... that is a good ammunition reply for the next person who sends me a forward. I have become quite rude about it as these useless chains are my pet peeve. Urghhh!
I second Zawi's suggestion to do things at your own pace and not make blogging a top priority. You'll find your tasks less stressful, fun even and blogging will remain a leisure interest. I am myself guilty of turning a couple of hobbies into jobs by focusing on them too much.
Have a great week, Jacqui.
I used to have the same feeling too. Running out of things to rant. But you'll never know when the ideas gonna come to you, i.e during lunch with clients and meetings... and i'll always keep a small note book and a pen to jot down.
JT, it is a sad day today. D's hubby passed away this morning from stomach cancer. If you want to follow up on this click 'D' on my link column on the left of my blog.
Hi Winnie
You too, huh? Well, I hope we will get back to our blogging routine someday. I'll be around in the mean time (just a little more silent and less 'kaypoh'). haha
You take care too.
Hello WP
I think the author of this article was being sarcastic about it being "big and brown". The forwarded emails I used to get used to say that the spider is tiny and lurks under toilet seats. :D
Thanks for the encouragement regarding my blogging. Appreciate it.
Hi Zawi
I agree that if I take it easy with blogging, then it won't seem like a chore. Blogging is supposed to be fun, right? :)
As for those forwarded emails, I trash them most of the time. If it is something new and it is some kind of warning, I check out its authenticity at www.truthorfiction.com
Most of the popular forwarded emails have been verified by that website.
Hi KC
Thanks for the compliment.
By the way, please don't shut down your blog again. If you need to take a break, just post a sabbatical notice. :)
Take it easy, KC.
Hello Nightwing
Thanks for the encouragement.
I am feeling a little better after I decided not to stress myself out with blogging and emailing.
I am going to cross stitch after replying some comments. Someday I may show my creations here. ;)
Hi Elviza
Oh yes, blogger's block ... big time! :) (besides other things taking up my time)
It is true that a journey is never without a stumbling block or two. I will just have to take it in stride.
Thanks sis! You take care.
Hello Aiyah Nyonya
At least I am not the only one who is going through this phase. I am glad I am in good company. :)
Hi Zewt
Wow... you too? And here I was hoping that I could keep blogging like you have been doing. I guess we all go through a slowing down phase some time or other.
P.S. If I am not typing, my hand is on the mouse. ;)
Hello Kak Teh
Thanks for the wishes.
I hope you don't disappear too long. I enjoy reading your work.
Take care and enjoy those 11pm food fest ... now that you have a new driver at home. :)
Hi Princess Farina
You know, I am still not able to visit your blog. My window closes on me the minute I am in. I miss reading your posts. :)
Thanks for the hug. I am glad I am not the only one who doesn't know what to write at times.
You take care.
Hi Rashi
Thanks for the ideas on what to write. I just need the first few words to flow out first. :) I may do so in good time.
You know when a forwarded message is worth passing on, I usually delete all the warnings and wishes and pass on the good part. Why promote something I don't believe in? :)
Hi Rita
I was thinking of doing the same thing (send this article off) the next time I get a load of forwarded redundant stuff from someone. Chances are, I may forget and let it go. :)
However, I do try to make it a habit to go to truthorfiction.com to verify the warning/story. If it turns out to be fiction, I will let the sender know about it.
I agree that when we focus too much on our hobbies, we make them unpleasant tasks eventually. If I could do that earlier to cross stitching (by taking a short break from it), I should be able to let go of blogging just a little bit. :)
Thanks. You have a great week too, Rita.
Hi Angel Eyes
That is another good idea - keep a note book to jot down ideas at unlikely times and places. I did think about it but it never caught on with me. I guess I have to make it a habit.
Thanks dear. :)
Hi Ruby
Sorry to hear about D's husband's demise. I will follow up on this at your blog.
Thanks for informing me.
You take care, Ruby.
Hello JT,
We will await for ur finished work..:)
I am sure it will be great.
Hey.. Have a story to share, without worrying about revealing urself ?.. Tell it to the virtual world... let the world know your story but not your identity. :) http://www.project71.com/readme Enjoyy!
thats sick..but yeah thats life..im definitely slowed..if not stopped in my other blog..dont exactly have the motivation to write..but coming up with some rather interesting stuff in my food blog..how hav u been?
Hi JT,
Don't worry about that. It will come. In the meantime... just enjoy your blog-hopping ... :)
Take care dear.
JT,
Sudah tua-tua ni memang kena slow down sikit laa... hehehe...
Hi Nightwing
ooo... the pressure is on. :D
Actually, you will not have to wait for the current project to be done. As soon as I stop procrastinating and take pictures of the ones I have done (that are currently on my walls), I will blog about it.
Hello Anonymous @ 00:04
Thanks for the link. Have a good day.
Hi Craving Joe
I have been busy but moving along well. These days, I do what I can ... when I can.
I look forward to reading whatever you have up your sleeves for your food blog. :)
Hi Nana
That is exactly what I will do. When I have nothing to blog about, I will blog hop, when I can.
Thanks for the encouragement.
You take care too. :)
Hi Pi
True lah ... sometimes I think I can move as fast as before but I realise I am just kidding myself. hahaha
hi again JT;
just wanna add something; if you dont have any well meaning stories to blog about just do like i do - poke fun at people!
err...i am not responsible for any untowards incident after that. do it at your own risk...*wink wink*
have a good day!
Hi j.t.
You got a mental block and cant think of what to write? And look what you have come upt with. Amazing!
My first comment here after having been your silent reader. :)
Thanks for dropping by at my blog.
Will consider taking up your suggestion.
Have a nice week end.
Hi JT,
Me too..just like you and Winnie. It is contagious isn't it? Nevermind, let's just go with the flow huh babe.
I'll keep poking you on facebook after that nomination..ha ha. So funny. Facebook is cute. C'on guys join us there..he he.
Hi JT
Keeping a blog should be about tress relief. It shouldn't add to your stress. So what if you have nothing to blog about? We love you anyway, ma'am
Hi KC ... again :)
hmm... whom shall I poke fun at?
I guess to avoid any untoward incidents (and possible lawsuits), I will stick to making fun of myself. :D
Thanks, dear.
Hello Kak Ton
Thanks for the compliment, Kak Ton. I guess my mental block pertains to sharing something original. I am never short of sharing articles from my email archives, though. :)
You have a good weekend too and thanks for visiting.
Hi Ruby
Going with the flow is the best thing to do. We will blog when we can.
When I saw that option, I thought of you immediately. It was so cute and it fits what we have been doing continously in Facebook - poking each other. :D
(I have imaginary blue black dots all over me. hahaha)
I agree that more of our friends should join us there. It is fun. The more, the merrier.
Hello Mat Bangkai
awww... thanks for the encouragement. Really appreciate your kind words.
It is true that blogging should be a stress reliever not a stress enabler. :)
You take care.
Hi dear,
You've been tagged by me! Come to my blog ya?
Have a good weekend.
*hugs*
Hi Angel Eyes
Okie dokie... I am going to your blog right now. :)

Hi JT, just got back from vacationing! Miss reading your blog! Entries still made me smile = ) i got tons to catch up on esp for my dutch lessons and a big test coming up! thus blogging hv taken a back seat for now! Hv a great weekend, hugs. Mush
Just popped by to say 'hello', and oh ya, re all those funny emails, these from people who still think the world is flat and the moon doesn't have footprints.
Sugee cake.
Everyone should see this.. http://www.project71.com/readme Enjoyy!
Hello David
Thanks for bringing Flavia's case to the world's attention.
I hope this case will not go unnoticed by authorities who have the power to make a difference.
Keep up the good work.
Hi Mush
Thanks for your kind compliments. :)
Glad to see you're back. Good luck on your big test and you have a good weekend too. Hugs.
Hello Anonymous (Sugee Cake) :)
Sugee cake reminds me the Eurasians back home. They must have this cake for almost every huge occasion at home.
Re those forwarded emails ... I think the people who composed them also have too much time on their hands.
I mean I don't mind if someone wants to say a prayer for me or send something to say that they are thinking of me but I simply do not believe in those warnings that are attached to it.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by. Appreciate your visit. :)
Hello Anonymous @ 12:01
Thanks for informing us about your site - "A place where you aim to record the personal lives of unknown people anonymously."
hi dear JT :

Hey Sis, howsit goin' in the Bayou over there? Is Lake Ponchartrain or Slidell anywhere near. I'm still waering 'em jeans that I bought at the outlet there... Sheeeaaat. Hehee...
Not too worry when there's not much too blog about.It's a good time to hop on other people's blog. Tons of good stuff out there. Look at me Sis, sometimes I go a whole month without blogging anything. Life's too short, Sis, take it easy and no need to add stress, y'hear?
Take care.
heheh...i love that part where ...
If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minutes, a large seagull with diarrhoea will land on your head at 5:00pm this afternoon and the fleas from 12 mangy camels will infest your backside, causing you to grow a hairy lump. aiyoh jacq!
everything happens to everyone else...and far enuff away as they are...u r still privy to what happened to them...
replace seagull with crow, replace camel with stray dog and this might happen in our own Bolehsia.
Hi Pearly dear
I wondered what happened to you. Nice of you to drop by even though you are busy. Miss you and thanks for the encouragement. :)
Hey Bro (Mat Salo)
I am near Toledo Bend Lake (actually one street over - can see the lake from my window). :)
Lake Ponchartrain or Slidell is about 6 hours from where I live.
By the way, no matter how much ah try, ah jist cean't speak like 'em natives. :D (that was terrible!)
I miss visiting some blogs which I frequented in my early days of blogging. I agree with you that this is a good time to revisit them and check out others too.
Thanks for the advice. I will take it easy. I have a tag to respond to but I will work on that over the next few days. :)
Hi Galadriel
You have a good point there! :D Everything happens to everyone else and no matter the degree of separation, we will always know what happened.
Have you noticed that some have a knack of sharing interesting private details about famous people like as though they are close personal friends of these celebrities/politicians (and we know they are no where close)? Just an observation of mine. hee hee hee
