Weekend Ramblings

The light bulb in my head is flickering. I have been feeling drained lately. Soon, I may not be able to update my blog as often as I would like to until some things get settled. There may be some occasional breaks but I will definitely still be around. Most probably just blog-hopping.

In the meantime, here's something for the weekend:

************************************************************************

Mouse Balls

I don't know how they wrote this with a straight face. This was a real memo sent out by IBM to its employees in all seriousness. It went to all field engineers about a computer peripheral problem. The author of this memo was quite genuine. The engineers rolled on the floor! Especially note the last couple of sentences
.

"If a mouse fails to operate or should it perform erratically, it may need a ball replacement. Mouse balls are now available as FRU (Field Replacement Units). Because of the delicate nature of this procedure, a replacement of mouse balls should only be attempted by properly trained personnel.

Before proceeding, determine the type of mouse balls by examining the underside of the mouse. Domestic balls will be larger and harder than foreign balls. Ball removal procedures differ depending upon the manufacturer of the mouse. Foreign balls can be replaced using the pop off method. Domestic balls are replaced by using the twist off method. Mouse balls are not usually static sensitive. However, excessive handling can result in sudden discharge.

Upon completion of ball replacement, the mouse may be used immediately. It is recommended that each person have a pair of spare balls for maintaining optimum customer satisfaction.

Any customer missing his balls should contact the local personnel in charge of removing and replacing these necessary items. Please keep in mind that a customer without properly working balls is an unhappy customer."

How to solve a mid-life crisis?

When I was married 25 years, I took a look at my wife one day and said, "Honey, 25 years ago we had a cheap apartment, a cheap car, slept on a sofa bed and watched a 10-inch black and white TV but I got to sleep every night with a hot 25-year-old blond. Now we have a $500,000 home, a $45,000 car, a nice big bed and a plasma screen TV but I'm sleeping with a 50-year-old woman. It seems to me that you are not holding up your side of things."

My wife is a very reasonable woman. She told me to go out and find a hot 25-year-old blond and she would make sure that I would once again be living in a cheap apartment, driving a cheap car, sleeping on a sofa bed and watching a 10-inch black and white TV.

Aren't older women great? They really know how to solve your mid-life crisis.

Here's one more to share...

Car For Sale

A man was reading the paper when an ad caught his eye. It loudly announced, "$500 Porsche! New!"

The man thought that it was very unusual to sell a Porsche for $500, and he thought it might be a joke, but he said to himself, 'it's worth a shot.'

So he went to the lady's house who was selling the Porsche and she led him into the garage. Sure enough, there was an almost brand new Porsche.

"Wow!" the man said, "Can I take it for a test drive?"

"Sure," answered the lady.

Unlike what he expected, the man found that the car ran perfectly. When he got back to the lady's house, he asked her, "Why are you selling me this great Porsche for only $500?"

Then the lady replied with a laugh, "My husband just ran off with his secretary, and he told me, 'You can have the house and the furniture, just sell my Porsche and send me the money.'"

Hi JT, Hope whatever is on your mind gets cleared off soon, meantime...relax, make yourself an ice coffee
go and sit in your garden enjoy the summer. Maybe put on your bikin, get a tan.
You don't have to go romancing the Internet, I don't have to go check my calendar when there will be a full moon, we now retired. Ha ha.
Like the IBM memo, ha ha and the wives stories.
You be cool, JT. Lee.

I thought I was just being a kepochi. But thanks for noticing. I appreciate your comment and compliments.

Thanks for visiting and see you around. :)

J.T. said...

Pi,

That is good one. There is a lesson there too but let's just enjoy the joke. :D

I have been enjoying the jokes you contribute to this space. :)
Keep them coming. Have a nice weekend, my dear.

Hello U.Lee

Oh yes... coffee will do the trick and a clear mind to tackle some tasks.
Me, wear bikini? I better not. Never worn one, I don't think I will wear one now. Though, if I had that girl's body in your previous posting (the one posing on the beach), I wouldn't mind. :D

You have a point there with our favourite past times of the past. Now the only thing I do with my computer is my blogging, emails and chatting with good friends... oh yeah.. of course, reading the news too. :)

You're such a level-headed person; I'm sure you'll weather the storm. As for blogging, rest if you must but don't you quit. I'm sure your blogosphere friends & fans wouldn't want to be deprived of your good, insightful writings.

Take care, JT.

J.T. said...

Jamy - Thank you kawan. I will. You take care, too. :)

Zhmi - Oh.. I am not quitting. I'm just feeling a little drained from having to juggle some other things in my life at the moment. I will be around. Thank you for your encouragement. You take care, too. :)

Hi JT,

The break will do you good. All of us need a break everynow and then, so go easy on yourself dear. Get rechraged and come back.

I have always said it and will say it again, that change is the only thing that is static in life! Knowing that, if we are faced with any change in our life it is ok, as we expected it anyway.

I love both the snippets up there especially the first one. How witty and how clever and how notty. Ha ha.

Hi Ruby

Yeah, lots of things happening at the same time. So, I had to pull my handbrakes and say "ok.. let's take this one at a time."

I will take my break and update my blog when I can. In the mean time, I have decided to go blog-hopping. So I will be making "kaypoh" at your blog, among others. (like I have not been doing that!) :D

Thanks and see you around, Ruby 'dahling'. :)

Hi&Lo

I so believe in that. In fact, I should thank you for steering me that way.
Many things that happened to me at the same time are now starting to seem less tragic. A couple of them - funny. :D

Thanks.

Hey JT,

Writer's block, eh? I hope you're able to shake it off, dissolve it, or simply detach yourself from it soon. :)

J.T. said...

Hey Rashikaps

Yeah, it is kind of a writer's block stemming from too many things on my mind. I could still update my blog with quotes and jokes without having to storm my brain for words. :)

I will soon. I had a good work out at the gym today. Feeling some energy seeping back in. :D

Hi Pearly

Germany has been having good weather the past few weeks but changed today. It looks dull out there. It is forecasted to rain every evening for a week.

Rashikaps said...

Hey.. ditto.. good workout at the gym. I should go there more often.

J.T. said...

I had to push myself this morning to face the day. Then I thought "I might as well hit the gym and sweat it out." Really helped. Listened to some music while I brisk-walked and push some iron and next thing.. refreshed. :)

Sometimes it is hard to step into the gym because I foresee all that hard work. hahaha
But once I get started, it is really not so bad. :)
